Astghik
Characteristics:
Goddess of wisdom, beauty, and love. Her name is the diminutive of Armenian աստղ astɫ, meaning "star".
She represents the goddess of virginity which is symbolized by the dove and the swallow birds.
The consort of Vahagn. The legend says that when every sunrise Astghik went to river Aradzani to have her regular bath, huge number of young men would sneak to see her nude beauty. However, she would, conservatively, surround herself with fog, as her feminine beauty was only for Vahagn. Thus, the region was called Mush, connoting the fog=mshush.
